Loan: Pre-Approved

Got the initial paperwork signed and processed. They'll now send the pre-approval notice to the builder. We'll probably write the check next week to get the permit process started.

Blindingly easy. I like that.

Earnest Money - The Check is Written

Well, we wrote the check and signed our name on the dotted line. Next step: secure financing. Well, along with getting the current house on the market. Still need to fix the carpet (gotta call Sam and get the carpet dude's number), paint the trim, get the yard cleaned up. Move crap into storage.
