Offer Accepted!

We got an offer yesterday, and accepted it today! All that's left is the inspection. Very excited! This should motivate us to be moved by the end of the month now.

Well, all the papers have been signed, so I guess we really should start packing.

We're really happy with the house. Like it a lot.

Will put a hex on the next person who comes to see this house so they'll buy it. We had 4 people in 4 days come visit over the past few days, so that's a good thing.

It's a Yard!

The lot has been pretty much leveled off. We have a retaining wall down most of the north side (stops in the backyard near the odd-shaped corner. It's so nice to have a level side yard! They also shaped up the hill in the back. This will be a fun yard!

It looks like all that is really left is the front porch and a bunch of cleanup on the inside. We'll see if they stick to the Aug 16th finish date.

Pantry

we are extremely close to being done. Here's my pantry - shelves and doors and everything! Just little things here and there still to be done inside. Still to be done are the driveway, front porch, and back patio. No word on whether we'll get a retaining wall on the north side. I am doubtful.

Oh, and the cabinets. Turns out the cabinetmaker gave them the wrong samples and don't even have shaker-style cabinets. So, what we have is what we're getting. But we got them for free! The builder is pretty annoyed with them.

Now if someone would just come buy our house... we're investigating bridge loans and such this week. yuck.

Lots of progress this week, with the walls and ceilings painted, the majority of the trim installed, and the vinyl flooring. They also installed the cabinets. The bad news? They seem to be the wrong style. ugh! We didn't discover until late Friday, but we've sent an email with pictures to the developer. stay tuned.

Siding!

Most of the siding is now done. just the garage plus the accent color and stone. yay!

All of the texturizing of the walls is done, and the garage is full of pretty cherry trim and doors. Click on the picture to go to Flickr and see pics. And also see the mystery holes punched in the master bedroom walls!

The sheetrock was finished this week. It's like they are real rooms now. Next may be the siding piled up in front of the garage.

Fully framed, roof done, plumbing in, and the electrical/wiring should be finished very soon. Other than reversing the phone/cable hookups in the master bedroom (being corrected), no problems yet!

Progress in the framing. The stairs are all done. That's the front wall laying down across the stairs. The upstairs bay window is done. Won't be long until the rest of the upper floor is framed.

All Systems Go

We put down the second earnest money payment today, so they'll apply for the permit soon - probably tomorrow. We'll get a call once they're ready to start, so we can start the stalking of the build site.

Wanna buy a house?

Signed all the papers for the realtor today, so the house should be on the market very soon. Rented a storage unit too. Gotta start boxing up the stuff we don't need around. yikes.

Loan: Pre-Approved

Got the initial paperwork signed and processed. They'll now send the pre-approval notice to the builder. We'll probably write the check next week to get the permit process started.

Blindingly easy. I like that.

Earnest Money - The Check is Written

Well, we wrote the check and signed our name on the dotted line. Next step: secure financing. Well, along with getting the current house on the market. Still need to fix the carpet (gotta call Sam and get the carpet dude's number), paint the trim, get the yard cleaned up. Move crap into storage.
